ASEC Santillan visits KABALAKA Hub, JBLFMU Museum

Asec Rodolfo Demosthenes Santillan, Deputy Administrator for Operation of the Office of Civil Defense visited the KABALAKA Hub at the JBLFMU as well as its museum during the Regional DRRM Council VI kick-off of its National Disaster Resilience Month celebration last July 4 2017.
 
Asec Santillan, Deputy Administrator for Operation; Dir. Rose Cabrera of the Office of Civil Defense Kagawaran Ng Tanggulang Sibil VI; and Ms. Donna Magno, the newly installed City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer led the visit to the Iloilo City's disaster information and exhibit center. Other guests include members of the RDRRMC representing DILG, DOST, AFP and DPWH among others.
 
Dr. Ronald Raymund Sebastian and other officers of the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University including staff from CDRRMO and PIO welcomed the guests.
 
Ms. Magno explained that the hub showcases the plans and the accomplishments of the city when it comes to DRRM. It is inspired by the Japanese way of life and is an output of the CBARAD project by in partnership with City Net. The KABALAKA Gallery is an offshoot of the meaningful public-private partnership which is the current thrust of the administration of Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.
 
JBLFMU being one with the city's advocacy for safety gave a temporary seat for the hub in its campus for a year until the permanent DRRM hub is constructed in a specific location.
 
The visit generated excitement and commitment from the guests to help promote the KABALAKA advocacy of Iloilo City to other LGUs in the region.
