Dr. Elsie Flores-Gancia, a professor of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU)- Molo emerged champion in the Full-Time Teacher Category in the Search for The Outstanding Private Education Retirement Annuity Association (PERAA) Member awards this October 20, 2017.

Dr. Gancia presented her research paper, “Reading Achievement Among First-Year JBLFMU-Students: Its Effect to Academic Performance” to emerge champion over numerous delegates coming from all over the country. 2nd place went to University of Baguio while 3rd place was garnered by Davao Central College.

PERAA is a private, non-profit organization established on September 2, 1972 and is the first comprehensive retirement program in the country.

Every year, the association holds a Search for the Outstanding PERAA Member in several categories namely: Administrative Head, Administrative Staff, Academic Head and Full-time Teacher.
