JBLFMU-M’s BSCSM and BSTM students take part in Iloilo Tourism Summit 2017

With the theme, “Hospitality 2020: Globalization in the Hotel and Tourism Industry and Dining Trends in Asia,” students from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University- Molo’s (JBLFMU-M) Cruiseship Management and Tourism Management Programs attended the 2017 Iloilo Tourism Summit at SM City Cinema 2, July 22.
 
The Iloilo Tourism Summit is an annual event conducted by the RGO International Institute Inc. and Center for Professional Advancements (CPA) with an aim to gather tourism students in both senior high school and college in region six to update them about the current trends and innovations of the tourism industry. “If you think training is an experience, try ignorance, because training is an investment. We want to bring speakers together to update the trends of the tourism and hospitality industry that are happening this year and will happen in the future,” said Pamela Daquita, event organizer and president of the RGO International Training Institute Inc.
 
Monithor Lester Belgera, Director for Corporate Development in Ascon Hotels and Resorts Corporation; Hazel S. Rodriguez, Director for Operations in Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant; and Romeo D. Sajonas Jr., Senior Manager for Learning in Solaire Resort and Casino Hotel served as speakers of the event.
 
“It’s great that JBLFMU-M’s students can actively participate in this event so that they are updated of the new trends and innovations of the industry and apply it to their professional career in the future,” said Denzil Galon, BSCSM program head. The main theme of the event is ‘Hospitality 2020: Globalization in the Hotel and Tourism Industry and Dining Trends in Asia’.
