JBLFMU launches mobile app

JBLFMU formally launched its mobile app, the first for the education sector in Iloilo City and perhaps the region, last Tuesday, October 18, at the SM City Activity Center.

The venture is the university’s answer to the call for innovation. It was conceptualized by its very own CEO, Dr. Ronald Raymond Lacson Sebastian and realized by the IT-SED office headed  by the IT Director, Engr. Archie Amparo. The JBLFMU app is our one-stop tap for anything and everything about John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University: The Maritime Vanguard.

The JBLFMU App is an info tool for the general public to know more about the Maritime Vanguard. Here, people can learn everything and anything there is about John B. Get to know the dynamic CEO, Dr. Sebastian; President Emeritus Dr. Mary Lou Lacson Arceki and browse through videos and news about the university.

But the app is more than just a public portal of information. It also serves four sectors of the JBLFMU community- alumni, students, shipping companies and employees through an easy access log-in account.

Users simply open the log-in icon, choose their classification, key in their account name and password and boom-A wealth of services available for every Lacsonian Vanguard.

Students can now check these when they log-in:

  1. Grades
  2. Schedules
  3. Accounts
  4. AAO Results
  5. eBooks
  6. Announcements
  7. School Calendar
  8. Job Postings

Faculty/ Staff can also access the E-Dashboard, check their load or class schedules, file leaves, do purchase, do ratings, and be up-to-date with the school calendar and breaking announcements

JBLFMU Linkages to Shipping can be more connected with the school and the academic progress of their scholars. They can also post job openings.

JBLFMU Alumni can also register and create their profile via the app that will allow them to have first dibs on Job Postings, announcements and other alumni activities. Their app profile also connects them with trainings schedules of the JBLF Training center plus other services.

A feedback center is also available where users can immediately send to the CEO any concern that needs to be addressed.

The application was completed two months ago and is still undergoing upgrades to ensure that all members of the JBLFMU community as well as all the stakeholders can be served.
