Bacolod Lacsonians land 2 slots in THOS 2017

If Iloilo’s Lacsonians made names for landing all the top 5 slots for the The Outstanding Students Awards of Iloilo Elite Circle of 5, JBLCF Bacolod also lands two slots in the award’s counterpart in Bacolod City, the The Outstanding Students Awards of Negros.

Mdpwn Lovely Georgia Benavente, a BS in Cruiseship Management Student and Mdpn. Lemar Gabayeron of the BS in Marine Transportation were both chosen to be among the top 10 awardees of the THOS..

Benavente is a multi-talented lass with multiple beauty titles as well as leadership and academic achievements. GAbayeron on the other hand is the Supreme Student Government President of JBLCF Bacolod, an officer of various organizations and very active in community service. Both received their plaques and medals in a formal awarding ceremony conducted by the organizer, JCI Bacolod City, last February 17, 2017.

Benavente said that she was inspired by the example of his brother, Boy George Benavente, who also is a recipient of the THOS award. “It has been two years ago since my brother won as THOS awardee and I continued his legacy not by force but by inspiration. At first, I was quite hesitant in pursuing the THOS Award for I will be competing with other student achievers. However, I realized that I must not compete with them but instead, to myself. To be a better version of myself and to speak life to other people. And by God's grace, I made it to the top 10, I once agian carried the name of the institution with pride and dignity. This accomplishment opened doors towards the varying opportunities in my life. I was able to use this as a platform from which I can voice out my causes and advocacies in life. For I know, that I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. To God be the glory”.

The awardees will each receive achievement rings from JBLFMU in recognition of their feats. They will be personally commended by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ronald Raymond Lacson Sebastian, during the Coffee Break to be held at JBLFMU Arevalo on March 29, 2017.
