Lacsonians grab ALL 5 slots in TOSIA Elite Circle of 5

A history made.
 
On its 8th year, The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards is dominated by John B Lacson Foundation Maritime University after winning all the 5 slots for the Elite Circle of 5.
 
During the formal awarding held yesterday, March 19, 2017 at the Robinson’s Place Iloilo, Ms. Aime Hope P. Balico taking up Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration and Mdpn Steven O. Tajonera of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from JBLFMU Molo; and Mdpn. John Carl T. Tagulalap, Mdpn. Michael M. Rosal and Mdpn. Thomas Richard E. Graza  all taking up Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from JBLFMU Arevalo; each received a trophy and a medal as part of the Top 5.  Mdpn Edvy Jannrei M. Berte also of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from JBLFMU Arevalo is part of this year's Top 10 and received a medal. 
 
The administrators of the units, Capt. Alfred Espinosa of JBLFMU Molo and Engr. Robert Neal Sobrejuanite of JBLFMU Molo;  witnessed the event as it unfolded.  It is the first time for the TOSIA to recognize awardees from one university in the Top 5.
 
The TOSIA is an annual search of outstanding students for both college and high school levels qualified through their achievements;  academics, extra curricular activities and community service involvement. Documents were submitted via bid books. The top 20 then underwent interview and essay writing.
 
Yesterday, the Batch Infinity's top 10 were presented to the community during the awarding ceremony after which the Top 5 was formally announced. 
 
The pillars of TOSIA are academics, leadership, community and faith. It is both an encouragement for students to do well and a recognition of excellence.
 
TOSIA is a project of the Junior Chamber International Regatta.
