After rigorous screening, one young leader from JBLFMU qualified for this year’s  the Ayala Young Leaders Congress (AYLC). Mdpn Gerardo Manzano, a sophomore of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation of the JBLFMU Arevalo is one of the final 80 chosen during the final phase of the selection  held November 29 to December 1.

Out of the  669 applicants coming from the country’s top colleges and universities who underwent the  screening, the first 350 were chosen. Number of applicants decreased to 163 with Mdpn. Gerardo T. Manzano Jr., Mdpn. Mikkel Dan S. Arengo, and Mdpn. Mc Gregor S. Niervo from JBLFMU Arevalo; and Mdpn. John Godwin Nallada from the Molo unit as qualifiers. After the final phase however, only Mdpn Manzano was chosen to be among the 80 finalists who will join 19th Ayala Young Leaders Congress, which will be held on February 7 to 10, 2017.  The panel interviews were held at the Ayala Tower One & Exchange Plaza, Makati City. During the interviews, the qualifiers faced senior executives and human resources personnel from the Ayala group of companies

The congress will engage the finalists to talks, outdoor activities, plenary sessions, and workshop group discussions with speakers, panelists, and fellow participants to further develop their skills as servant leaders in the country.

Mdpn Manzano said that the AYLC qualification for him does not mean a recognition or an award. It's actually an opportunity for leaders who wanted to challenge themselves to become better and capable of bringing positive change in the community and the nation.

“Kululbaan ang experience ma'am but it's all worth it as long as during the interview you've been honest about yourself and about your experience as a leader”.

Now on its 19th year, the AYLC is a concrete expression of the Ayala group’s commitment to nurture a community and form a network of values-based and principled Filipino leaders passionately dedicated to nation-building and uplifting and creating change in the lives of Filipinos.
