The Fund for Assistance to Private Education or PERAA, is the first comprehensive retirement program in the country. It was modeled after the Teachers Insurance Annuity Association - College Retirement Equity Fund or TIAA-CREF (the multi-billion dollar retirement system for teachers in the U.S.). Today, it has evolved into a solid, self-reliant association.
