JBLFMU Arevalo

The JBLFMU  Kayaking Team from the Arevalo unit landed the 3rd runner up and 4th runner up for the  Triyaking Competition Mixed Category of the 1st Dipolog City Dragonboat Competition in  Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte  last May 2, 2015.
The category is composed of  both males and  females in  one boat.


A multitalented Vega Philippines Inc. cadet is this year’s Most Outstanding Graduate for the Arevalo Unit. OIC Mark Collin Solas, completed his academic requirements for the degree Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation last year with Highest Honors. Solas was also a recipient of the Rotary Club Award. He was a Model Cadet, one of the 2012 Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children of the Philippines, one of the Top Ten Maritime Students of the Philippines, an orator and student Leader.

The JBLFMU Dragon Team from the Arevalo Unit conquered the championship for the Minor Finals of the Fist Alaminos Dragon Boat Competition against the University of the Philippines, Crimson Dragons  and 1925 who were on 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively  held last  March 21, 2015.

For the first time! John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Arevalo Unit initiated the first-ever University Immersion 2015 with the partnership of Student Executive Council and Clubs and Organizations Society, last March 4.

With this keystone, one of the young leaders of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Arevalo was chosen alongside 80 other delegates from all-over the country as participant of the 17th National Ayala Young Leaders Congress 2015 at Lima Park Hotel, Malvar, Batangas, February 10-13.

Imbibing by heart the teachings of his beloved JBLFMU, 2/0 Mark Eden Ellaga, a batch 2012 graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation of the Arevalo Unit is awarded as an Outstanding OFW in the category of Outstanding Filipino Blogger in the recently concluded 6th Outstanding OFW and Balikbayan Reputation Awards.


JBLCF Bacolod

D/C Boy George Benavente, an Odfjell Tankers scholar, led the 2015 graduates as Most Outstanding Graduate and Magna Cum Laude. Benavente is also one of the three outstanding students of Negros Occidental, one of the Ten Most Outstanding Maritime Students of the Philippines, a System Model Cadet and one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines for Region VI. He is presently vying to be one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines .
Benavente is a very timid student who most of the time is quite hesitant to publicize his success.


JBLCF-Bacolod celebrated a grand hurrah as they reaped medals and trophies at the  Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association  (NOPSSCEA) Cultural, Musical Literary Competitions and Dance Fest.

Hands down and congratulations to John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation – Bacolod as the Department of Education of Region VI – Western Visayas granted the school an authority to operate a Secondary Level Education program for the School Year 2015-2016.

Nine very talented and brilliant students of JBLCF Bacolod vied for the 3 slots of the JBLCF Bacolod Model Cadet title during the search held September 10.

John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod held its annual symbolic wearing of uniform and paraphernalia last July 19, 2014 at  the JBLCF-B covered court.

Thirty three students joined the first selection of the Model Student 2014 last August 12, 2014 at the New Building Function Hall.



JBLFMU Molo has this year produced a student writer as the Most Outstanding Graduate. Deck Cadet Daren Ril Valenzuela, a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering was also the Editor-in-chief of the Seagull in 2014. A Vega Manila Crew Management, Inc Scholar, Valenzuela has already gone onboard and finished his Onboard Training requirement for the degree. In 2013, Valenzuela received a   Special citation as TOSIA Worker and Scholar.


Discipline and perseverance made Charity Dorcas Paciente,  Bachelor of Science in Tourism 2 and Mdpn. Joseph Abienda Carillo,  Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering 2; both students from the JBLFMU Molo, grab the gold for the  Dance Sports Modern Standard Category of the Western Visayas PRISAA held in Bacolod City last December 28.

Mdpn. Anthony John Niño of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering with Kyrie Dane Dela Cruz of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism won the gold in the Vocal Duet category for the ILOPRISAA 2014.

Concerned with the welfare and career development of our graduates, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo, Inc. would like to inform you that the JBLFMU Review Center is now open to offer review classes for OIC-Engine Watchkeeping.

JBLFMU Molo’s Kinaadman Chorale will represent Region VI in the upcoming National Choir Competition by the Manila Broadcasting Corporation at the Aliw Theater in Manila this December 9-13.

The Molo campus formally welcomed the freshmen through an acquaintance and orientation program held at the Molo Gymnasium on July 28.

The Guimaras Bike Paradise of The Philippines,  through the leadership of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University and the Province of Guimaras will again host the third Padyak Series on August 2, 2015. The 3rd Padyak Activity titled  PADYAK KALUSUGAN: A Fun Ride for a Cause will this time focus on health and cancer awarenesss. Bikers will ride en masse from the Jordan Wharf to the Provincial Capitol where a medical and dental mission along with information campaign on health and cancer will be conducted for free. The funride will be on-road and off-road.  


For the 2nd year now, JBLFMU made it to the top 100 colleges and universities in the Philippines, the only maritime school to achieve such feat; as surveyed by Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities.

Four hundred bikers gathered and biked with Padyak Kaligtasan, the second of the Padyak Series last Saturday, February 28. This is in line with the tapping of the biking potentials of the Guimaras province and sustaining the activities for this Biking Paradise of the country done in cooperation with the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University.

The Special Board of Marine Inquiry (SBMI) formed by the Philippine Coast Guard-Western Visayas (PCG-WV) is one of the hearing bodies of the PCG tasked to investigate marine casualties that occur within the area of responsibility of the PCG district.
