To promote the 16th National Student Art Competition, representatives from Vision Petron visited John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Arevalo this morning at JBL hall.

With the theme “Tuklas Kapaligiran”, Vision Petron invests on the youth in discovering the Philippine culture and also highlights the best and most unique features of our country.
“Vision Petron rediscovers your heritage,” said Jay Bautista, the resource speaker from VP.

In line with the commemoration of National Seafarers Day, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Arevalo along with different maritime institutions and stakeholders joined the Day of the Filipino Seafarer 2016 this June 25 at SM City Iloilo.

The said activity was anchored on Proclamation 138 approved by President Benigno S. Aquino III declaring the 25th of June as Filipino Seafarer’s Day.

In celebration of Philippine Environment Month, Jblfmu-Arevalo joined the Adopt-an-Estero/Water Body Program Orchestrated Clean-up held at Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo June 18.

The river clean-up was spearheaded by the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) and supported by the Barangay Officials and the community of Sto. Niño Sur and Sta. Cruz, Arevalo.

“This is a flagship program of DENR Secretary Paje and participated by both public and private organization. This clean-up is done quarterly on different parts of the community,” said Rizza Daphet Catague, DENR-Environment Management Bureau.

The Research Office of Jblfmu-A held the Annual Faculty and Staff Research Colloquium and Utilization Workshop 2016 this morning at the JBL Hall.

Six papers were presented during the event that was attended by selected Department Heads, Subject Area Heads, and faculty who are due to write their own papers for 2016-2017.

Striving to inculcate and reflect the values of a true-blooded Lacsonian, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod (JBLCF-B) united for the opening of the “Values Clarification Week” last October 12, 2015.

Excellence, one of John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod’s core values, has again been shown in the Search for Model Students 2015 during the 39th Foundation Anniversary and Intramurals last 28th of September at the JBLCF-B covered court.

John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation- Bacolod continues to promote quality education as part of its advocacy. In line with this, the institution has continued its thrust by organizing a new club, the Peer Mentoring Organization (PMO) which is envisioned to extend academic support to students with difficulties in different major or minor subjects. 

Beauty and brains plus the values she was able to imbibe as a Lacsonian made Lovely Georgia Benavente, a BS Cruise Ship Management Student of JBLCF Bacolod land the Ms. Paraiso title in Baguio City recently.

The very person who has made the ABS CBN Stinger became more popular will represent JBLFMU Molo in the coming grand finals of the ABS CBN Newscasting Competition.
Mdpn. Kenneth Cordero of the Bachelor of Science in Cruise Ship Management gained the right to be the unit’s representative to the prestigious competition after besting 14 other contestants from other courses. He was able to deliver his scripts with spontaneity and clarity all throughout.


In order to establish basic fundamental swimming techniques on young swimmers, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University - Molo (JBLFMU-M) conducted separate free basic swimming lessons.

             The BS Customs Administration (BSCA) research output entitled “Level of Difficulty Encountered in On-the-job Training (OJT) by BSCA students” landed the first spot during the College of Business (COB) Research Colloquium and Presentation at CSM Function Hall, July 8.

Lea Denise Belgira, an incoming 4th year student of the Bachelor of Science in Cruise Ship Managment  from the JBLFMU MOlo championed the women’s category in Enduro competition for the Manggahan Woodland Bikefest Festival 2016.

Year after year, JBLFMU never fails to land spots for the annual Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines Regional Search.
Two students from JBLFMU Molo make it to the top 20 of the 2016 TOSP for Region VI.  Mr.  Mark Almelia,  a Bachelor of Science in  Customs Administration student and Ms. Joyce Ann A. Javier who studied Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management are among this year's top 20 finalists.

Talent and passion in dancing were innate in Kenneth Cordero, a 3rd Year Bachelor of Science in Cruise Ship Management student of the JBLFMU-Molo, whose video became viral and opened doors for a potential stardom.
Kenneth uploaded his video dancing to the ABS-CBN TV Patrol stinger. It was a fun video tagged and shared by several facebook users. It was viewed more than 1,500,000 times. Aside from this, he sent his video to Show Time dancing to the tune Tatlong Bibe and won.  He was then dubbed TV Patrol Queen and Show Time Bibe winner.

 After four years, the 802nd Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Unit of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University won as the champion in the National Annual General Tactical Inspection (NAGTI) 2016, May 28.
Garnering an average score of 96.7 percent, JBLFMU NROTC Unit topped the 9th NAGTI performance over eight Naval Reserve Centers with 70 units nationwide including big schools like Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific and the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy.


The hands behind the videos JBLFMU use for promotion and documentation are his, his excellence in his field is recently attested by a recognition from the prestigious Mayad Academy.

In its continuous quest for environmental protection, JBLFMU Molo and Arevalo both received the Tagum Ilog Award from Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau(DENR-EMB) in a formal awarding ceremony held at the Amigo Terrace Hotel, June 29.

On June 28, 2016 at 2pm, ART DECK launched Jorg Dunton’s first solo exhibit, “ Waterline: Depth and Rhythm.

 After two years in service CAPT. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian finished his term as the Squadron Director of 601st Squadron of Western Visayas. The turn-over activity was done in a formal gathering at Punta Villa last June 16, 2016. The said activity was attended by the different officers from the national office, squadron directors and auxillaries of the whole Western Visayas.

To support the current administration’s advocacy against drug abuse, JBLFMU participated in the recently concluded Anti-Drug Summit with the theme HUBLAG Kontra Druga held at the Jaro Gymnasium.
The said event was a multi-sectoral gathering of thousands of anti-drug advocates and supporters all over the city who share the common goal. It was attended by thousands of students, government employees and representatives of other sectors.
