I was born in a middle class family... the reason that i have to survive and persevere in life in order to succeed. My parents raised me well. I grew up with good character and values. I started playing sports in elementary... I have played in Palarong Pambansa and won a bronze medal. I pursued my passion in sports up to high school. During those days academics is not that much important to me but i maintained my grades and stayed with the star section since freshmen until i graduated. When i went to college, my parents were in a financial problem so i sought to be a member of the school's varsity team to avail a scholarship. I also heard that for academic achievers, they can also avail of the academic scholarship and so i tried my best to qualify. The first time i saw my name in the bulletin board at the end of the semester listed on the deans list, i was overwhelmed with joy. With two scholarships it was difficult but i persevered. After class i would go for training. i would go home late tired and hungry. Sometimes i missed classes because of the game i play and i have to exert extra effort to catch up in my class. As years go by, i have adjusted to the routine. I graduated as Cum Laude and received gold medals in the Western Visayas PRISAA and the National PRISAA. Supposedly this year was my last for the national games. Again, i could have won another gold medal but i wasnt able to play, coincidentally because it is the same date as that of my graduation. God is still good. He might not have given me the gold medal but he gave me the Most Outstanding Graduate award that i really did not expect. Indeed, success is not for the weak-hearted. No matter what, a bold heart will always lead us to the stars we want to reach.
