CIDA Project Workshop for JBLFMU Faculty and Staff

In line with the Distance Education for Seafarers Project, which is JBLFMU'S collaborative work with the University of Newfoundland Marine Institute (MI) and the CHED now on its second fiscal year of implementation, a faculty training workshop on the topic, Facilitation of Online Courses was conducted on September 14 - 23, 2009 at the Cruise Ship Management Building of JBLFMU at the Molo campus. The objective of the workshop was to equip the faculty of JBLFMU with skills in the development of online courses, media selection and integration, and the delivery and facilitation of courses to students. The activities included workshops, one-on-one sessions with trainors and meeting with Administration.

Mr. Robert Mercer, Technical Lead, School of Maritime Studies, and Mr. Brian Kerr, designer of MI, conducted the training. Dr. Benelyn P. Batiduan served as the Technical Lead from JBLFMU.

The participants included faculty and staff from the three units of the university, the RRLS-ICTA and IT.
