Dr. Mary Lou Lacson Arcelo, John B. Lacson Foundation System President Emeritus and Chairman of the Board of Trustees have been given the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit. She is the second Filipino granted with the Honor of Merit. With an event attended by more than 50 guests, Dr. Arcelo was presented with the order at a ceremony held at the Norwegian Ambassador’s residence in Manila last October 14, 2011.

The highlight of the occasion was the reading of the order duly signed by the King of Norway by no less than the Ambassador of Norway, his Excellency Knut Solem and the pinning of the medal in the presence of various representatives of the maritime community. Also present were delegates from JBLFMU-Arevalo, JBLFMU-Molo, JBLCF-Bacolod, members of the executive council, and members of the JBLF Board of Trustees.

The announcement was followed by Dr. Mary Lou's message of acknowledgement for the honor.
