VISION
The University Research and Development Center, in partnership with the cooperating units at JBLFMU-Arevalo, JBLFMU-Molo and JBLCF-Bacolod shall be the outstanding center in research in the country with a special focus in servicing the research needs of the maritime education and training, maritime-related regulatory agencies, academic community, the maritime industry, and all other stakeholders in the country and the world.

MISSION STATEMENT
The University Research and Development Center and the cooperating partners at JBLFMU-Arevalo, JBLFMU-Molo and the JBLCF-Bacolod shall adhere to a strong and dynamic research culture demonstrating, all the time, their recognized academic specialization with the use of the latest in technology in the conduct of relevant research beneficial to the academic community, the stakeholders in the domestic and world maritime industry.

OBJECTIVES

  • To conduct research on the maritime environment, protection, and preservation;
  • To establish base-line data and to prepare monitoring indicators on the leading maritime institutions, including domestic and international regulatory agencies and to identify the contributions of Filipino men and women in the domestic and world maritime industry;
  • To gain insights on the performance of graduates of maritime education and training, trace their career path and thus,  identify obstacles as well as contributory factors towards a successful and professional fulfillment in the discharge of their role in the economy and society;
  • To identify innovative teaching methods and processes and the use of technology for the enhancement of excellence in maritime education and training;
  • To conduct an inquiry into the curricular content as a basis for the preparation of accompanying textbooks and learning aids for continuing excellence in teaching;
  • To conduct  policy-oriented  research  as  basis for an effective and efficient decision-making as well as in the formulation of policies that shall contribute to continuing excellence in maritime education and training.
