John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. became this year's host for the Solidarity and Technical Meeting of the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) 2026, strengthening familiarity and camaraderie among coaches, officials, and assistant coaches in sports, musical, and literary events, April 8 at the JBL Hall.

"Our goal for the games is consistency. I encourage you [the officials] to therefore speak up. Today gives us the opportunity to learn between one another. It is said that the best games are when officials are never the story." These were the welcome remarks of WVPRISAA Consultant Dr. Christy B. Laurente, who pointed towards the meeting's goal to "strengthen the bond between officials in different provinces."

Rev. Fr. Braulio M. Dahunan, SJ, School Chaplain of Ateneo de Iloilo talked about ethics in coaching, providing practical insights and stories aligned with the core of coachingโ€”as formators of student athletes' integrity, respect, responsibility, fairness, and care.

Concluding the meeting was a breakout of events, spearheaded by the tournament managers.

Following this meeting is the WVPRISAA opening ceremony, marking the official start of sporting and cultural events until April 12.
