Innovations and studies fortified maritime excellence as John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc., conducted its Annual Faculty and Staff Research Colloquium, 14th Student Research Colloquium, and Sharing of Best Practices at the JBL Hall under the theme โSteering Maritime Practice Through Meaningful Researchโ, April 10.
The colloquium then brought faculty members and student researchers for the pitch and exchange of studies and best practices, anchored on maritime education and industry-related matters.
Eight faculty and staff research presentations were featured during the morning session, which focused on community empowerment, waste management strategies, graduate attributes, service quality, rating course feasibility, student and employee Core Value integration, maritime job engagement, and academic and extracurricular engagement.
On the other hand, sharing of best practices included the โAssure-a-Child the Right Education Programโ by Mrs. Mirazol D. Dionson and the โChild-Centered Disaster Risk Reduction Initiativeโ by 2/M Karl Danielle H. Sira, right after, Dr. Roderick R. Germo challenged researchers to move beyond studies as a mere compliance, that these must be translated into real-world applications, aligned to policy development, and sustainable solutions.
The 14th Student Research Colloquium featured student research presentations for the afternoonโs event, with the winners named for the oral and poster presentation.
