Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association (ILOPRISAA) went berserk in the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Taekwondo event last April 12 at GT Mall, Pavia.

The Ilonggo squad prevailed in the Poomsae and Kyorugi categories, bagging a total of 47 gold medals and 12 silver medals.

Among those ILOPRISAA athletes who took home a medal were JBLFMU-A’s Joben Lopez and Mdpn. Ram Angelo Escander.

Lopez notched a gold medal finish in the Kyorugi Secondary Boys Middleweight Division.

Meanwhile, Mdpn. Escander settled for a silver medal finish after a nail-biting loss against CAPRISA’s Justine Ferasol.

Lopez will represent the whole region of Western Visayas in the National Private Schools Athletic Association (NPRISAA) Games, which will be held in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental from May 8-15, 2026.
