The graduating students of the College of Maritime Education underwent an onboard training orientation held at the JBL Hall last April 20.

This orientation is a critical requirement for all graduating BSMT III students, both regular and irregular, as well as their parents or guardians. The topics covered were for them to better understand the processes and preparations needed before going onboard.

The discussions covered vital technical topics, including the management of the Training Record Book (TRB), daily journal duties for bridge watchkeeping, and the use of the JCADETS monitoring application.

Capt. Jason June Almonte, Shipboard Training Supervisor, did a comprehensive briefing of onboard processes and requirements. The key speakers, 2/M Jan Patrick Miraflores and 2/M Eazyll Faith M. Siwagan, provided guidance on social media etiquette and onboard training guidance (OTG) to ensure professional conduct at sea.
