𝗕𝗦𝗠𝗧 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝗔

More than 500 senior high school students from the different provinces of the Philippines, together with their parents and guardians, attended the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) Bridging Class Orientation 2026 of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. this morning, April 28.

Capt. Nestor L. Baluya, MSMM kicked off the program by giving a preview of the discussions, emphasizing that this is integral in shaping their identity as future seafarers.

After that, 2/M Jester B. De La Cruz took the helm as he carefully explained the modality of the bridging class as well as the basic online class policies and classroom etiquette.

This was followed by a ship tour discussion by the General Manager of JBL Maritime Vanguard Services, Inc., Capt. Jonathan E. Villaflor; the discipline orientation conducted by Head of Discipline, 2/M Abcede A. Bangalisan II; and the admission and enrollment procedures talked through by Guidance Counselor, Mr. Bernabe A. Basbas, M.A.Ed., RGC.

The program was closed by the BSMT Program Head, Capt. Kester R. Ledesma who encouraged the students to embrace the discipline, learnings, and camaraderie that comes from being a Lacsonian.

After the program, the attendees were given a campus tour within the university.

This event is rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Number 4: Quality Education.
