The shoreline became a place of action and purpose as volunteers gathered for the Coastal Clean-Up Initiative spearheaded by PTC Seadmariners, bringing together participants from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) – Arevalo and Molo, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA).
Representing JBLFMU Arevalo were members of the Disaster Risk Reduction Unit (DRRU), CES Society, Vanguards, and the university's dormers, who joined fellow volunteers in collecting plastic waste and other debris along the coast. Working side by side, they demonstrated that environmental protection begins with individual responsibility and collective action.
More than removing trash from the shoreline, the activity highlighted the importance of preserving coastal communities and protecting marine ecosystems. Every piece of waste collected served as a reminder that small actions, when done together, can create a lasting impact on the environment.
The initiative reflects the shared commitment of participating organizations to promote environmental stewardship and inspire communities to take an active role in safeguarding the country's coastlines for future generations.
