Three alumni of the university scored 100% in the Theoretical Examinations for Marine Deck Officers conducted by Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) last March.
The new MARINA circulars paved the way to a new set of examination system for seafarers. Thus, leading to have a new set of competencies and functions. To pass this exam, the examinee needs to score at least 70% per competency and 70% per function.
12 competencies comprise the theoretical examination for OIC-NW on ship’s 500 GRT up. Meanwhile, the management level deck theoretical exam consists of 18 competencies.
