Nineteen company-sponsored and placement cadets who entered the university's dormitory, signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with their parents and went through a strenuous initiation yesterday, August 17.
Hailing from esteemed maritime companies, 13 were affiliated with Bouvet Shipping Management Corporation wherein eight are third years and five are second years, while six third years are with Veritas Maritime Corporation.
The event were graced by the dorm masters, 2/M Karl Danielle Sira and 2/M Abcede Bangalisan II, who stressed that the Daily Dorm Program will make the cadets "ready for their career" and prepare them "mentally, physically, and emotionally."
Together with them were two senior graduate cadets from Veritas Maritime Corporation and 18 senior dormers, from Stolt-Nielsen Philippines Inc. and Phoenix Maritime Corporation who helped facilitate the program and prepared the obstacles during the initiation.
The university's dormitory program aims to instill discipline, wellness, and leadership skills among the cadets as they also excel on academics despite being under pressure.
