The 77th Founding Anniversary of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) officialy started with an opening program at the JBLFMU-Arevalo gymnasium on February 3.

Mr. Robert O. Parcia, JBLFMU-Arevalo Administrator, gave the opening remarks, welcoming everyone to the event.

Dr. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian, CEO of JBLFMU, and Dr. Mary Lou L. Arcelos, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, shared messages that highlighted the university’s achievements and continued growth.

“From a small maritime school, we have grown into a leading institution known for our excellence in maritime education and training,” said Dr. Sebastian, who also officially opened the celebration.

The program included the Oath of Sportsmanship led by Mdpn. Hanz Iñigo Parreño, Most Outstanding Swimmer in the National PRISAA, and a Silent Drill Exhibition by the Arevalo NROTC.

The presentation of System Model Cadet Contestants, Mr. & Ms. JBLFMU candidates followed, along with a performance by Tribu Pan-ay, 1st Runner-up in the 2025 Dinagyang Tribe Competition.

The event concluded with a Unity Dance, bringing the JBLFMU community together to start the week-long celebration.
