Philippine Embassy in Seoul, South Korea welcomed 80 third-year BS Tourism Management students and seven faculty members from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo), Inc. during their study visit and benchmarking program on November 10–13, with the courtesy call held on November 13 at the Sentro Rizal Hall.


Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez received the delegation and emphasized tourism’s contribution to national development while encouraging students to learn from Korea’s advancements in hospitality, agriculture, and cultural promotion.


Tourism Attaché Dr. Erwin Balane briefed the group on the Department of Tourism’s strengthened promotional efforts in South Korea, while Third Secretary and Vice Consul Reisha Olavario highlighted sustainable tourism practices and ongoing maritime cooperation between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.

The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Filipino academic and cultural delegations as part of efforts to deepen people-to-people ties between the Philippines and South Korea.
