Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation

The Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation is a higher education degree program that covers competences defined under PQF level 6 and Table A-II/1 and some elements of Table A-II/2 of the STCW code indicated in Section II, II.1 and other national and international requirements.

It deals with the study of navigation, cargo handling and stowage, controlling the safe operation and care for persons onboard the ship at the operational level.

This degree involves a 3-year Theoretical Academic studies in its Bacolod campus and a 12-month apprenticeship period on vessels either of near sea or international trade. This is the preparatory course that leads to a professional career in the maritime industry as a deck officer.

Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering is a higher education degree program that covers competences defined under PQF level 6 and Table A-III/1 and some elements of Table A-III/2 of the STCW code indicated in Section II, II.2 and other national and international requirements.

It deals with the study of marine propulsion system and its auxiliaries, its operation and maintenance as well as controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the operational level of marine engineering. This program also deals with electrical, electronics and control engineering.

Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA)

This is a four-year course designed to meet the demands of the government and the private sector for competitive professionals in the country's import and export industry. The program is equipped with a curriculum intended to prepare the students in carrying out the principles of the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines, as well as regulations related to cargo handling. Educational trips and on-the-job trainings are provided to expose the students to the actual scene of the business and to provide them with the attitude, skills and knowledge essential to their profession.

Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management Major in Cruise Ship Services (BSHRM-CSS)

Today's organizations need managers who are familiar with hotel and restaurant operations, competent in customer relation and skillful in culinary arts, food service, housekeeping, and bartending services. To keep abreast in catering to such demands, a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management major in Cruise Ship Services program is designed for students who intend to pursue a professional career in hotel and restaurant management with an extended background in the updates on skills and information regarding the hospitality industry.

Senior High School and Junior High School

The Basic Education department provides the students with a strong and solid foundation for the tertiary Merchant Marine Officers courses and quality basic education in line with the Department of Education policies and standards guided by the vision and mission of JBLF as a reputable institution in Maritime Education. It implements a curriculum development program with enrichment courses in swimming, computer, and basic seamanship.

Swimming, basic safety courses, first aid at sea, firefighting, survival craft handling are given due emphases in Basic Seamanship course in high school.
