John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation - Bacolod (JBLCF-B) officially launched its IMBUKADA 2026: Freshmen Week Celebration Day 1, in welcoming the freshmen students with the theme โ€œMaritime Vanguard: Welcoming Leaders, Navigators, and Future of Maritime Education,โ€ on June 17, at the institutionโ€™s Covered Court.

"Just relax and treat the institution as your second home," Engr. Sylvino V. Tupas, PhD, JBLCF-B Administrator, said, welcoming the newest lacsonians onboard, while Mr. Cheryl E. Pagunsan, Student Activity Coordinator, presented the employees of the institution and the newly elected officers of the Supreme Student Government (SSG) for school year 2026-2027.

Ms. Sally M. Pretta, Placement/Alumni Coordinator, also presented all the company scholars, serving as an inspiring call to action for the freshmen to earn their place among the industry's future deck and engine officers.

In line with this, the program continues with an inspirational message from the institutionโ€™s esteemed alumni, Kim Zymil Nueda, Most Outstanding Graduate 2026, Capt. Chuckie E. Guevarra, and Atty. Charles N. Mangga shared their valuable insights and experiences, inspiring the new students as they begin their maritime journey.

Moreover, D/C Sam Gabriel C. Yap, former vice-president of SSG, turned over the key of responsibility to the newly elected president, Mdpn. Dave C. Querubin, giving his acceptance speech.

Various student organizations showcased their activities and advocacies in Club Hopping as Rexenel S. Ibardolaza, MME, from the Student Affairs and Services Office, concluded the event for future leaders and navigators in the maritime industry.
