John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation (Bacolod), Inc. proudly welcomed Laskaridis Maritime for their first official campus visit on November 17, 2025, marking the beginning of a strong new partnership with one of Greece’s leading dry bulk shipping companies, renowned for its excellent Port State Control (PSC) performance and unwavering commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards. The distinguished delegation: Ms. Maria Paidi, Crewing Manager; Ms. Cristina Vikatou, Deputy Crewing Manager; Mr. Filippos Zigoris, Designated Person Ashore/CSO; and Capt. Rolly Diaz, Fleet Manager and proud JBLCF-B alumnus (BSMT Batch 2003), was welcomed by School Administrator Engr. Sylvino V. Tupas, Ph.D., together with the Department Heads. The team received a comprehensive institutional briefing highlighting JBLCF-B’s program offerings, accreditation achievements, and its strong track record of producing globally competent maritime professionals.
A guided tour of JBLCF-Bacolod’s premier training facilities followed, showcasing the Bridge and Engine Simulators, specialized laboratories, machine and welding workshops, seamanship areas, the Learning Resource Center, and Hospitality Management kitchen laboratories, all reflecting the institution’s commitment to outcome-based, industry-aligned training. Laskaridis Maritime also presented their company’s operational excellence, global fleet standards, and manpower needs, emphasizing their high expectations aligned with their strong QHSE culture and international reputation. Their presentation underscored the growing global demand for skilled, disciplined, and values-driven seafarers, precisely the kind of graduates JBLCF-Bacolod continues to produce. This visit marks the beginning of a meaningful collaboration and reinforces JBLCF-B’s position as The Maritime Vanguard, preparing world-class Filipino seafarers for the global fleet.
