John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo, through its Community Extension Services (CES) Office, held a Mental Health Awareness Seminar on April 7, 2026, at the University Library Extension. The seminar, with the theme “Listen, Understand, Support: A Call for Mental Health Awareness,” was attended by student beneficiaries of the Educational Assistance Program from Grades 6 to 12, representing partner communities: Barangay Trapiche (Oton), Barangay Sooc (Arevalo), and Oton National High School.

Ms. Mary Luna Dawn Cabingan, RGC, the resource speaker, emphasized the importance of mental health, particularly for students facing academic, family, and personal challenges. The seminar aimed to raise awareness, encourage conversations, and empower students to seek help when needed. Participants gained valuable insights on recognizing emotional struggles, managing stress, and supporting peers with mental health concerns.
This activity was made possible with the support of the Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation, in collaboration with the CES Office and the Social Work student interns from Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus.
