John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo), Inc. held the Core Values Seminar with the theme โLeading with Character: The Core Values That Builds Extraordinary Student Leadersโ at the CSM Hall on July 21, spearheaded by the Student Affairs Coordinator (SAC) in collaboration with the Supreme Student Government (SSG), bringing together student leaders from various campus organizations.
Rev. Fr. Ricardo Panghulan, Regional Chaplain of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), served as the guest speaker, stressing that leadership is never defined by titles or rankings but by the principles one upholds.
โLeadership is temporary, but character is forever,โ Fr. Panghulan said, urging student leaders to build a legacy founded on values rather than positions.
In his opening message, Fr. Panghulan stated that all of us have values because they are innate to us and stirred a talk with a defining vision of legacy that great leaders are not remembered for the positions they held, but for the values they live and the hope they have inspired in others.
โYour leadership is not measured by the position you hold, but by the values you live,โ Fr. Panghulan emphasized.
He also elaborated on the universityโs IPLEDGE core values, emphasizing how Integrity, Perseverance, Loyalty, Excellence, Discipline, Godliness, and Equity guide student leadership.
โGreat leaders are remembered not because of their titles, but because of their character,โ Fr. Panghulan added.
He further noted that true leaders do not seek recognition, but quietly seek Godโs will.
