Pangasinan State University (PSU) visited John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo) on November 19 to study salt production practices in Iloilo and Guimaras.

The visit is part of PSUโ€™s research project titled โ€œAnalyzing the Landscape of Salt Research and Development in the Philippines: Identification of Gaps, Opportunities, and Strategic Recommendations.โ€

The PSU team aims to explore solar-dried and cooked salt production methods to enhance understanding and documentation of these traditional practices.
Moreover, they will also collaborate with JBLFMU faculty and researchers to identify challenges and research gaps in the local salt industry.
