JBLFMU Dragon Boat Team joins Inaugural National Schools Dragon Boat League

The National Schools Dragon Boat League (NSDBL) concluded its two-day debut tournament today, December 15, at the Iloilo River, with the finals held at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand along Muelle Loney Street.

The Bakunawa, JBLFMU (Molo) Dragon Boat Team, proudly participated in this foundation leg of the NSDBL, which gathered teams from public and private high schools and colleges across the country.
According to the NSDBL organizers, the league aims to promote dragon boat racing as a grassroots mainstream sport that fosters camaraderie, physical fitness, and a healthy lifestyle among the youth.

The event was spearheaded by the Iloilo Dragons in partnership with the Iloilo City Government, the Philippine Sports Commission, the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Iloilo City, and Iloilo Province.

The NSDBL is set to expand in the coming years, with organizers expressing hopes that the tournament will inspire more schools nationwide to embrace dragon boat racing as a competitive and community-building sport.
