The visiting delegation included Ms. Maria Paidi, Crewing Manager; Ms. Tina Vikatou, Deputy Crewing Manager; Mr. Filippos Zigoris, DPA/CSO; and Capt. Rolly Diaz, Fleet Manager. They were formally welcomed by JBLFMU-M officials and student representatives under The Maritime Vanguard.

During the visit, the group held discussions with Dr. Ronald Raymond Sebastian, CEO of JBLFMU; Engr. Roberto Neal Sobrejuanite, Unit Administrator; and Dr. Virmari Tan, Director for the International Relations Office. Conversations centered on strengthening training pathways, aligning cadetship requirements with international maritime standards, and expanding support systems for female cadets aspiring to join the maritime workforce.

The company representatives expressed interest in how JBLFMU continues to promote inclusive maritime education. University leaders, in turn, highlighted ongoing initiatives to provide high-quality training and broaden opportunities for all cadets.

To further understand the institution’s learning environment, the delegation was given a tour of key university facilities and various instructional areas. The tour commenced at the Mother Foundation Building, where they viewed institutional heritage displays at the JBLFMU Maritime Museum.

The courtesy visit reinforces the importance of industry-academe partnerships and the growing role of female cadets in shaping the future of the maritime sector.
