This week, we proudly feature Lymne Dahl D. Tanes, a graduate of BS Cruise Ship Management, Class of 2007. She currently serves as Chief Stewardess under the Luxury Yacht Group, with 17 years of experience in the yacht industry, a career shaped by perseverance, discipline, and commitment to excellence.

Miss Lymneโs journey to John B. Molo began with uncertainty. She initially considered Nursing and Tourism, but a family member introduced her to the Cruise Ship Management program. Coming from a family of seafarers, she realized that the sea had always been part of her story. Choosing John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University Molo became a decision guided by heritage, courage, and a desire to explore opportunities beyond the shore.
Her student life at John B. Molo was both meaningful and transformative. She built friendships that felt like family and learned under mentors who were firm in discipline yet deeply supportive. Each day brought lessons inside and outside the classroom, helping her grow in confidence, responsibility, and self-awareness.
Beyond academics, Miss Lymne immersed herself in campus life. As a Red Cross volunteer, she learned compassion and service. As a cheer dancer, she developed teamwork and confidence. Representing the BS Cruise Ship Management program in career fairs strengthened her communication skills and pride in her course. These experiences helped shape her character and prepared her for the demands of life at sea.
In her professional journey, perseverance became her guiding value. She faced exhaustion, homesickness, cultural challenges, and even a life-threatening maritime emergency. Yet she remained steady, rising from an entry-level stewardess to leadership roles through consistency and dedication. As she shares, โPerseverance turns trials into triumphs and setbacks into stepping stones.โ
Today, Miss Lymne leads with professionalism and heart as a Chief Stewardess, earning trust and respect in an international work environment. Reflecting on her journey, she credits her Lacsonian foundation for teaching her discipline, integrity, and resilience. She reminds students that the sea will test both skill and character, and preparation makes the difference.
To the current generation of Lacsonian students, her message is clear. โBe hungry to learn, humble to improve, and brave enough to take the first step. Carry integrity in your character, perseverance in your heart, and excellence in your work.โ Her story stands as a reminder that with courage and values, one can rise, lead, and inspire.
