John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) held a gender advocacy symposium titled “Breaking Barriers: Strengthening Gender Advocacy and Ending VAWC in the Academic Community” on March 25, at the AVR.

The activity was attended by selected Marine Engineering students, including two sections from the first year, one section from the second year, and one section from the third year.
The symposium aimed to raise awareness on gender sensitivity, promote equality, and strengthen the university’s commitment to creating a safe and inclusive academic environment.
The event formed part of JBLFMU’s continuous efforts to empower students through education on social responsibility and gender-related issues.
