John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU-M), through its Community Extension Services (CES) Office, initiated a Mental Health Awareness Seminar with the theme “Listen, Understand, Support: A Call for Mental Health Awareness,” held at the University Library on April 7.

The seminar participated by students from the JBLFMU’s Educational Assistance Program (Grades 6–12), from partnered barangays—Trapiche (Oton), Sooc (Arevalo)—and Oton National High School.
Ms. Mary Luna Dawn Cabingan, RGC, the resource speaker, emphasized the importance of mental health in every student’s life, highlighting that it must be nurtured and given proper attention.
The event successfully concluded with a feedback session that provided meaningful and engaging learning experiences, helping to raise awareness about the issues faced by students today, assisted by the Social Work Student Interns from Colegio Del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus.
