John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) hosted the opening ceremony of the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet 2026 on April 8 at the JBLFMU-Arevalo Gymnasium.

Student-athletes, delegates, and school representatives from across Western Visayas, including Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo, gathered for the annual regional sports meet.
The meet carried the theme “Inspiring Dreams, Igniting Passion, Innovating Pathways for the Olympics.”
Dr. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian, WVPRISAA President and JBLFMU Chief Executive Officer, delivered the welcome remarks during the program.
Dr. Sebastian recognized the athletes as the “art and soul” of the gathering and highlighted their dedication, discipline, and determination during the event.
“As you compete in the days ahead, may you embody the true spirit of sportsmanship, showing respect, playing with integrity, and striving always for excellence,” Dr. Sebastian said.
The WVPRISAA Meet 2026 marks the start of a series of sporting events among private schools in the region and concluded the day with a fellowship night, bringing participants together in camaraderie and celebration.
