Young Mariners in Action: Students Champion Environmental Stewardship in Guimaras

On October 26, 2023, the JBLFMU Molo Maritime High School Department, in collaboration with the Community Extension Services (CES) Office, successfully conducted a Clean-up Drive at Igang Bay Marine Sanctuary Puerto del Mar, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, and a Vegetable Gardening Activity at Woodland Bike Park, Brgy. Ravina, Sibunag, Guimaras. Grade 6 and 7 students, together with their teacher-advisers, actively participated, demonstrating strong volunteerism and environmental responsibility. The activities aimed to raise awareness on environmental protection and social accountability while providing hands-on learning experiences. Through direct engagement with nature, students developed a deeper appreciation for conservation, teamwork, and sustainable practices, reinforcing JBLFMU’s commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious and socially responsible future leaders.
