The Community Extension Service Society (CESS), a recognized club of JBLFMU Molo, successfully held its annual CES and Immersion Activity on June 16, 2024, at JBLFMU Ecological Park, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. Members united for an impactful environmental initiative, combining tree planting, mangrove planting, and a coastal clean-up drive.
Student volunteers planted 50 mahogany seedlings to combat climate change and enhance biodiversity, followed by 100 mangrove seedlings to protect coastlines and serve as marine nurseries. A coastal clean-up drive ensued, removing debris from beaches and mangrove areas, safeguarding marine life, and promoting sustainable practices.
These collective efforts underscore JBLFMU’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community action, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals 13 and 14. The activity stands as a testament to the transformative power of youth-driven initiatives for a sustainable, greener future.
