On August 4, 2024, the Apex Club of Iloilo and JCI Ilang Ilang joined forces to support JBLFMU’s environmental protection initiatives through mangrove planting activities at JBLFMU Ecological Park and Igang Bay Marine Sanctuary. This collaborative effort aimed to strengthen the local ecosystem, improve coastal resilience, and promote sustainable practices within the Marine Protected Area.
Volunteers from both organizations actively participated in planting and nurturing mangroves, contributing to shoreline protection, habitat restoration, and marine biodiversity conservation. The initiative reflects JBLFMU’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement, emphasizing the importance of collective action in safeguarding natural resources.
Through enhancing coastal ecosystems and raising awareness of sustainable practices, this partnership advances Sustainable Development Goals 13 and 14, ensuring healthier, thriving marine environments for present and future generations.
