On February 9, 2026, JBLFMU successfully conducted the Monitoring and Assessment of the Igang Bay Marine Sanctuary (IBMS) and Mangrove Nursery Project to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of its environmental initiatives.
The activity was led by JBLFMU Shared Services, in collaboration with the CES Offices of JBLFMU Molo and Arevalo, with support from IDC Social Work student interns. As part of the assessment, Key Informant Interviews (KII) were conducted with project management and law enforcement representatives to gather insights on project implementation, governance, and enforcement.
This activity is important to the Community Extension Services (CES) Office and the Municipality of Nueva Valencia as it strengthens environmental stewardship, promotes accountability, supports evidence-based planning, and enhances collaboration among stakeholders.
