Two hundred seventy-four secondary and tertiary students from across Iloilo attended The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) 2026 Talks at the JBL Hall, February 1. Its theme โBeyond the Clout: Forging Ilonggo Leaders into Luminaries of Hopeโ, emphasized that true leadership is measured not by applause but by impact.
Three TOSIA alums, namely, Atty. Gilda Rodinas, TOSIA 2019; Ms. Jennifer Erika Angeles, TOSIA 2024; and 2/M Elijah Jose Barrios, TOSIA 2015, graced the seminar-forum.
Atty. Rodinas encouraged everyone to "dream big and donโt let circumstances of life stop you." Meanwhile, Ms. Angeles shared the values needed as young leaders: fairness, integrity, and the ability to be the change and hope.
Lastly, 2/M Barrios, an alumnus of this university, talked about how important consistency and balance is for a leader, especially for young leaders.
An open forum was held after the sessions to accommodate questions from the students. This annual talk marks the start of the selection for aspiring TOSIA awardees.
