Extension is an integral function of institutions of higher learning for the purpose of providing avenues for leadership that will bring about change and development among communities.

John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University, as an institution of higher learning, is mandated to perform extension services. It has the qualified faculty and staff to undertake the extension functions of the University in order to effectively carry this mandate.

As the third pillar in the triad of functions of the institution, it is tasked to package, demonstrate, and apply appropriate technologies and processes generated by the University through research and technical studies for adoption in selected communities.
