John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) kickstarted its 78th Foundation Week celebration with JBLFMU-Molo as the official host.
The opening ceremony commenced with the foot parade around the campus, followed by the entrance of colors led by the Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC).
JBLFMU-Molo administrator Engr. Roberto Neal S. Sobrejuanite, President Emeritus Dr. Mary Lou Lacson, and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ronald Raymond Sebastian then gave their welcoming speeches.
The program continued with a video presentation of βJBLFMU Through the Years.β The administrators and department heads of the JBLFMU academic units along with the JBLF System and Puerto Del Mar then proceeded with the raising of their respective banners. Shortly after, award-winning university athletes Jayro Paclibar, Mica Angelie Posadas, Andrea Leira T. Soloterio, and Hanz IΓ±igo ParreΓ±o carried on with the torch relay, lighting the friendship urn. This was followed by Alyssandra Monique Sorbito leading the Oath of Sportsmanship.
"Showcase your resilience, your excellence, agility and leadership," Dr. Sebastian said as he declared the official opening of the Foundation Week.
Β This week will follow a string of events celebrating academic excellence, showcasing creativity, and fostering sportsmanship, furthering the legacy of JBLFMU at the forefront of being maritime and more.
