Under Proclamation No. 559, the 22nd year of the National Dental Health Month (NDHM) 2026 was observed, in which John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. took part in full support of the universityโs medical-dental services, held at the JBL Hall from 0800H to 1200H on February 24.
With the theme, โAnchored in Oral Health: Strong Teeth, Safe Voyage,โ Dr. Violie G. Albarado, school dentist, incorporated art into the celebration through an On-the-Spot Dental Poster Making Contest where nine participants joined the competition, presenting visual interpretations of proper oral hygiene and dental care awareness.
Students, faculty, and staff witnessed the event as contestants worked on their illustration boards and were subsequently given a toothpaste and toothbrush pack to further promote daily oral care practices.
Three winners bagged cash prizes after the event, with Mdpn. Jamill Dave Tagaytayan secured first place, followed by Mdpn. Joshua Tanciano as second place, and Mdpn. Sepryll Jhon Aclaracion as third place.
The event aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, promoting oral health awareness through creative expression and supporting preventive healthcare initiatives and encourages responsible health practices within the academic community.
