No waves, no windโjust discipline filling the air.
The Polaris Class Organization gathered at John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. gymnasium for the annual Cadet Preparado, a symposium where Polaris Class alumni address the student-members.
Carrying the theme โBeyond the Horizon: Strengthening the Fundamentals for a Successful Maritime Career,โ the event brought in D/C Angelo Mari Gonzales, 3/O Christian Ivan Than Guzman, and Capt. Date Dalipe, who shared real-world insights on life at sea, tackling power dynamics onboard, the tension between seniority and safety, and the discipline required beyond the classroom.
They challenged cadets to bridge theory with practice, emphasizing that technical knowledge alone is not enough. In the maritime world, readiness is measured not just by skill but by character, resilience, and decision-making under pressure.
Through discussions and open dialogue, Polaris cadets were reminded: the journey ahead is not just about reaching the sea but proving they are worthy of it.
