SEC PROJECT AIDS DRIVERS AFFECTED BY OIL PRICE HIKE

The Lacsonian’s spirit of Bayanihan and compassion gets rechanneled through SEC’s outreach project.

Despite the rainy weather, the distribution of goods for the SEC’s outreach project “PARA KAY MANONG: Tabang Tsuper and Project Sikad” pushed through last April 11 with jeepney, tricycle, and trisikad drivers around Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo as the beneficiaries.

The goal of the project is to help and support the hardworking public utility drivers since many of them were affected due to the oil price. This in one way aims to spark collaboration among students, teachers and other stakeholders to contribute monetary donations to fund and realize the said project.

The project was led by the SEC SHS Governor, Gabrielle Adrian Evangelista, together with his council members and in partnership with the Senior High School Department, Polaris Class Organization, Third District Future Seafarers (THIDIFSA), Student Affairs and Services (SAS), and the Community Extension Services (CES) office.

Different sections from the Senior High School department delivered items like rice, canned goods, coffee and noodles as a way of supporting the project. Other donations were sent through GCASH and other remittances to supplement the existing pool of donations from the students. Student volunteers participated in packing the goods with the guidance of the SEC officers.

The Sto. Niño Sur Brgy. Hall served as the venue for the distribution of goods with a total of 126 beneficiaries.
