JBLFMU-A SHS CONDUCTS FIRST HYBRID PTA GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Senior High School Department of the university conducted its first hybrid General Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Assembly last August 27.

At 9:00 AM, parents and guardians met for the Homeroom PTA Elections and Orientation with the section adviser as the facilitator, followed by the General PTA Assembly at 10:00 AM in the University Covered Gym.

Dr. Angeli N. Sebastian, SHS PTA President, welcomed the physical and virtual attendees, followed by the presentation of SHS PTA Officers for S.Y. 2022-2023. Dr. Sebastian also presented the projects and programs of the association last S.Y. 2021-2022 like the SHS PTA Scholarship Grantees, Virtual Family Day 2021, Typhoon Odette and Agaton beneficiaries, Mental Health Webinar, Padyak Marinero Project and the Pool Canopy Project.

At the same time, she presented the plans, projects and programs to be pursued for S.Y. 2022-2023 like the continuation of the SHS PTA Scholarship Grant, MANO MO Gift Giving Activity, Family Day Celebration and Livelihood-Related Seminars with Parents/Guardians as Resource Persons.

This event marked the first-ever parent-led value talk with Mrs. Marigold Jessica D. Biluan, Grade 12-Antwerp Parent, discussing the value of integrity from the viewpoint of a parent.

Adding excitement to the event is the attendance raffle. 31 minor prizes, consisting of goods essential to the student's school needs, and 3 major cash prizes were given to lucky winners.

An open forum was also conducted to cater to the questions and concerns of the participants. Mrs. Mary Mae Jun P. Esmaya, SHS Principal, and Capt. Alfred G. Espinosa, Administrator, shared a short message while Mr. Michael L. Katipunan, SHS PTA Vice President, thanked the support of parents through his closing remarks.

The event was made possible with the support of the SHS PTA Officers, who offered financial and goods pledges in the attendance raffle, and the SHS Faculty as the working committee.
