LACSONIAN HIGHLIGHTS 'LEGACY' BRANDING; SECURES 3RD PLACE AWARD IN NAT'L POSTER TILT

“For a Lacsonian artist, the legacy continues!”

Dedication and hardwork prevailed for Mdpn. Arron John Mortega, a third-year BSMT student and The Dolphin Staffer as he secured 3rd place in the 13th National On-the-Spot Art Contest.

"Once again, we have proven that we are maritime and more. Even though we are maritime students, we can excel in the field of arts," said Mdpn. Mortega.

Mdpn. Mortega's entry anchored on the theme "Marinong Filipino: #No ShippingNoShopping Thank you!", besting other 19 schools around the country.

"I do not do this for self-satisfaction alone, but to continue the institution's legacy," said Mdpn. Mortega citing that his artwork aims to highlight how the shipping industry provided our basic needs.

"This feat will never come true without the help of my coach, 2/M Aldin Turija, and the support of Maam Rohenna Miranda, Maam Sol Dionson, Maam Majah Angelica Sapio, and Sir Bern," he added.

The said event is in celebration of the 27th National Seafarers' Day to recognize Filipino seafarers' vital role in developing the Philippines as a maritime country. Moreover, in the same contest last year, D/C Rian Guanzon Mardoquio bagged the 4th place award.
