Depicting Lacsonian's Advocacy Through Blood Donation Activity

“Once a blood donor, always a lifesaver.”

Heroic deeds are not only portrayed in drama but a simple blood donation makes you a hero yourself. This heroism can be seen when John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo) Inc. students, faculty, and staff participated in Dugong Ilonggo: Sugpon sa Kabuhi mo, a blood-letting activity by Redcross last May 3, 2023 at the JBL Hall.

Office of Iloilo City Counselor Alan Zaldivar initiated this activity and was facilitated by the Iloilo Titans Eagle Club. The blood donation activity encourages voluntary blood donation to ensure a sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks.

4000 is the ideal target of blood bags in a year, however, the current bags on blood bank is at more than 400 only. As blood-letting activities are essential to the country, volunteers are considered to be hero in simple ways.

The activity showed how Lacsonians are not just honed to be skilled navigators but also they are cultivated to become compassionate citizens of the nation.
