John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) has been honored in the prestigious 2nd Commission of Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Awards, solidifying its position as a premier educational institution in Western Visayas.

The university's remarkable achievements were recognized last May 19, 2023 at the West Visayas State University (WVSU) Cultural Center in La Paz, Iloilo City.

JBLFMU received the following awards: Autonomous Status University in Region VI, Ranked as the Top 4 Best University in Iloilo City by EduRank (Ranked 71st in the Philippines based on Research Outputs, Non-academic Prominence, and Alumni Influence), Best Implementer-SIKAP Grant and Best Implementer-Flexible Learning in Higher Education.

Based on the relevant CHED Memorandum Orders and pertinent Commission issuances, the CHED Regional Quality Awards seek to recognize the efforts and initiatives of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the fields of instruction, research, and community extension.
