JBLFMU-Arevalo Faculty Recognized In Annual Education Confab

With the aim of providing a platform for sharing research findings, fostering stronger relationships among its members, and promoting the latest instructional practices, the 2023 United Federation of Filipino and American Educators (UNIFFIED) Multidisciplinary Research Conference International commenced at John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo), Inc. from July 24-26.

Geared towards the theme, "Navigating the Challenges in Education through Unified Initiatives," the event was attended by esteemed faculty members from JBLFMU-Arevalo.

Among them were Dr. Geneva M. Eler, Dean of JBLFMU Graduate School, C/M Virmari S. Tan, Ph.D., Dean of BSMT Department and BSMT Faculty Dr. Mary Jean Dela Cruz and Dr. Roderick Germo. They were acknowledged at the event for their contributions as members of UNIFFIED.

Raising the banner high for JBLFMU-Arevalo, 2/M Aldin Turija bagged 2nd place in his study entitled, "The Use of Moodle and Students' Performance in Protection of the Marine Environment" under the Education & Educational Innovations Strand.

"Preparing for the paper presentation on top of my responsibilities in school is the most challenging part [of my journey]," 2/M Turija stated.

The summit also featured top educational speakers nationally and internationally, among whom were Atty. Marie Louise Araneta-Marcos, the First Lady of the Philippines and instructor of West Visayas State University-College of Law (WVSU-COL), Dr. Joel Tiu Maquilang, Professor of Ateneo De Manila University, Dr. Margarita Consolacion Ballesteros, Department of Education Director IV, Ms. Sandra Hernandez, Elementary School Principal in United States of America, Dr. Carla M. Thompson, Faculty of the University of California, Dr. Roel Palo Anicos, CHED Central Luzon Education Supervisor II, Atty. Angela Trinidad, former Labor Attache in the Philippine Embassy, Atty. Arnedo Valera, International Human Rights Lawyer, and Capt. Alfred G. Espinosa, JBLFMU-Arevalo Administrator.

"Educators should catalyze transformation as they are the agents that the education sector desperately needs," Dr. Edgrado B. Dacpano, President of UNIFFIED, Inc., highlighted in his message.

The three-day summit encompassed various events, including a Multidisciplinary Research Conference International, Salindunong, Awards & Gala Night, and an Educational Tour which is spearheaded by the UNIFFIED,Inc., a non-profit organization of educators with a shared vision of promoting excellence in teaching and community service.

The event was held in collaboration with different tertiary institutions in Western Visayas, including JBLFMU through the leadership of Dr. Eler, Capiz State University, Central Philippine University, and University of San Agustin.
